My artwork and poems usually begin in my notebooks. I started in middle school with illustrated dream diaries and have continued to this day. After college when I lived in New York City, I used notebooks to sketch people on the subway and in public spaces. I still do that today in Shanghai. Most of my notebooks have been discarded along the way. Here are a few full notebooks from my bookshelf in Shanghai.
